Demarai Gray

According to reports from The Express and Star yesterday morning, Arsenal are also in the mix to sign highly-rated Birmingham winger Demarai Gray.

The 19 year-old is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in the Championship and indeed throughout English football, having bagged seven goals in 57 league appearances for Birmingham City and picked up twelve caps for England across the youth levels, ranging from U18 to U20.

That, in combination with news that a contract clause could see him leave St. Andrews for just £3.5million in January, has generated plenty of interest in the prodigious winger.

Scouts from Everton, Manchester City and Bayern Munich allegedly watched Gray in action for the Junior Lions during a recent 1-0 win over Czech Republic, whilst West Brom emerged as potential candidates for his signature earlier this week and Liverpool are believed to have a first refusal option already in place – meaning they’ll get the chance to match any bid for the Brummie hotshot before he’s allowed to discuss personal terms with other clubs.

The Express and Star have now added Arsenal to Gray’s ever-expanding list of suitors, describing the north London outfit as one of West Brom’s ‘main rivals’ in the race to sign him. Validating those claims, The Express and The Metro have both mooted the Championship starlet as a Gunners target within the last week.

Indeed, the race to snap up the England U20 is certainly hotting up. The Express and Star believe it will be a three-horse affair between Arsenal, Liverpool and the Baggies.

Which club would suit Demarai Gray best? Arsenal, Liverpool or West Brom?
