According to reports from Mirror Football yesterday evening, Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze has refused to rule out a move to the Premier League this summer.

The attacking midfielder is perhaps best known for his sensational winning volley in last summer’s World Cup final, securing Germany a 1-0 victory over Argentina in extra time.

But at club level, Gotze has struggled since moving to the Allianz Arena from Borussia Dortmund in summer 2013. Despite bagging 30 goals in 93 appearances across all competitions, manager Pep Guardiola has often excluded him from the Bavarians’ most important fixtures.

That lead agent Volker Struth to claim last month that Guardiola has ‘destroyed’ his client, resulting in reports of rumoured interest from Premier League trio Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United.

The 23 year-old hinted last week that his future with the German giants remains undecided and his recent comments have added further fuel to speculation.

Speaking after Bayern’s pre-season victory over Real Madrid in the Audi Cup, he said; “From my side, I can say that I’m happy to play here, with these fans, with this club – it’s a fantastic job. I’m very happy with everything around me and with the things that happen here, but there are always two sides to everything.”

Agent Struth has also had his say, telling reporters; “Mario has made it clear that his last two seasons have not been idyllic. However, it’s also true that no club has come forward with an offer. Bayern have not ruled out a possible transfer, just as we won’t rule out any possible opportunity, to stay or go abroad. There’s still a long way to go until the end of the transfer window, so anything can still happen.”
