According to reports from Mirror Football this morning, Barcelona star Pedro has issued Manchester United a three-day deadline to sign him.

The 2010 World Cup winner looks set to leave the Nou Camp this summer after falling behind Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar in the pecking order last season, with Old Trafford his likeliest destination.

He’s already made a ‘verbal agreement‘ to join the Red Devils according to some sources, and chief executive Ed Woodward flew out to Spain earlier this week to try and finalise the deal.

But United seem reluctant to pay the Spain international’s £22million release clause in full – or at least, not in one lump sum – leading to rumours that Chelsea will try to hijack their pursuit of the 27 year-old with a last minute bid.

And according to Mirror Football, who cite spanish publication Mundo Deportivo, Pedro has now issued the Old Trafford outfit a three-day deadline to sign him, having grown frustrated with the lengthy negotiations over his price-tag.

The 5 foot 6 attacker wants his future decided before the new La Liga season begins this weekend, with Barcelona facing Spanish Super Cup nemeses Athletic Bilbao on Sunday.

Although there’s plenty of interest in Pedro, staying on at Barcelona is by no means out of the question. Manager Luis Enrique has always maintained that the winger is welcome in his first team squad and even issued him a new contract in June after winning a third Champions League title at the Nou Camp.
