According to reports from talkSPORT and The Daily Mail, rumoured targets Jasper Cillessen and Gareth Bale won’t be joining Manchester United before the close of the transfer window.

Netherlands No.1 Cillessen flourished under Louis van Gaal’s leadership at last summer’s World Cup and has been mooted as a potential replacement for PFA Player of the Year nominee David De Gea – who could still leave Old Trafford for Real Madrid before the summer window slams shut.

But according to talkSPORT, the 26 year-old has insisted that he’s yet to receive any formal contact from the Red Devils and is now fully focused on spending the season with current club Ajax, telling reporters; “As far as I know it has never been a thing. I, the club, or my agent have never heard anything. As for me, this season begins and ends at Ajax.”

Meanwhile, The Daily Mail claim any outside chance of United pulling off a late coup for Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale have whittled down to precisely zero. Although the Welsh wizard failed to make Real’s hypothetical starting Xi in a recent fans’ poll, the Bernabeu outfit have informed United that their £87million signing is ‘not for sale at any price’.
