According to reports from The Independent this morning, Liverpool have beaten a host of clubs to the signing of 14 year-old wonderkid Edvard Sandvik Tagseth.
The young midfielder has taken trials with Ajax, Everton, Manchester City and Manchester United, as well as several other clubs around Europe, and was reportedly spotted by the Red Devils after scoring against them for the Goodison Park outfit in a friendly.

But the Norwegian prodigy has rejected their advances and decided to join Liverpool instead, describing his Anfield switch as a ‘dream move’, being a lifelong Reds supporter.
According to Norweigian publication Tronder-Avisa, Tagseth has agreed pre-contract terms with the Merseysiders, which will see him remain at current club Neset FK until January 2017 – at which point he’ll be 16 years of age.
He told local press; “I felt it was best club for me . I enjoyed myself best there. It’s something I’ve dreamed about since I was little. It is particularly satisfying to experience it. I’ll just do my best for years to come, then we’ll see.”
That makes Tagseth Liverpool’s eighth signing of the summer – albeit with an 18 months delay – following deals for Christian Benteke, Nathaniel Clyne, Roberto Fimino, Joe Gomez, Adam Bogdan, James Milner and Danny Ings.
