Spurs to hijack Arsenal’s £30m bid for African goal machine

Aubameyang has been an impressive replacement for Lewandowski.

According to reports from The Express this morning, Tottenham are set to hijack Arsenal’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The lightening winger-forward, once dubbed ‘the African Neymar’, boasts an impressive return of 42 goals in 95 appearances for Dortmund since joining the Bundesliga outfit from St. Etienne two summers ago.

Last season he finished up as the club’s top scorer and top assister, earning him a spot in the Bundesliga’s Team of the Year.

There’s been plenty of speculation regarding the Gabon international’s future at Westfalen over the last few months after the Black-Yellows’ failure to qualify for the Champions League and the subsequent sacking of Jurgen Klopp.

Arsenal are allegedly plotting a £30million bid after seeing a lesser offer rejected, but according to The Express they now face competition from Tottenham in the race to sign the 26 year-old.

Citing France Football, they claim Spurs are ready to outbid their local rivals and land the 39-cap international.

But Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc has insisted Aubameyang won’t be sold this summer, telling reporters last week: “I’ve heard a lot about this but I can say very clearly that it is blocked for him. He is simply not for sale.”

  • Delford Magaya says:

If the player want champions league football, then Arsenal is always the winner, I don’t think he would want to join a team that is not in Champions League because he tested Champions League before.

    • Rupert Magaya says:

I think he should go to spurs. Spurs are a team on the up now and with a world class training facilities and a proposed new ground. Spurs is the right choice.
