According to reports from The Daily Mail this afternoon, PSG have entered the race to sign Fulham prodigy Patrick Roberts.
The teenage winger is widely regarded as one of the most promising prospects in English football, boasting 14 goals and 31 caps for the Three Lions across the junior levels and playing a pivotal role in the U17s claiming the European Championship last summer.
He was named in the Team of the Tournament after amassing three goals and four assists in five appearances, which has gained Roberts considerably notoriety amongst the Premier League’s top clubs. Arsenal, Manchester United and Manchester City have all been mooted as potential suitors over the last few months.
The 18 year-old’s future at Craven Cottage is currently shrouded in serious doubt; Roberts’ contract is set to expire at the end of next season and despite manager Kit Symons’ assurances otherwise, negotiations over a new deal are yet to take place.
That’s caught PSG’s attention, according to The Daily Mail. Next summer, foreign clubs will be allowed to sign the prodigious attacker for just £300k – if the Cottagers fail to extend his contract.
Meanwhile, the British tabloid also claim Fulham are prepared to sell to English clubs this summer for £10million.
