According to two reports from Mirror Football yesterday evening, Tottenham Hotspur are planning a double-raid on Premier League rivals Manchester United.

The first report claims the north London outfit have switched their attentions to England winger and Old Trafford irregular Ashley Young, after being priced out of a move for Crystal Palace’s talismanic wideman Yannick Bolasie.

Eagles boss Alan Pardew valued the Congo international at a whopping £40million in April and although Mirror Football claim his price-tag has since dropped to around £25million, Spurs are unwilling to spend such a significant sum on the 26 year-old.

They view Young, aged 30, as a cheaper alternative, having now entered the final twelve months of his Red Devils contract following an impressive comeback 2014/15 campaign.

He’s not the only United star the Lilywhites are after, however; according to a second report from Mirror Football, they’ll also swoop for Mexico international Javier Hernandez after securing Emmanuel Adebayor’s long-awaited White Hart Lane exit.

Chicarito has struggled for game-time and form over the last two years but boasts strong scoring credentials in the Premier League, with three consecutive campaigns of double figures under his belt.

He’s also into the final year of his Old Trafford contract, but reports from Manchester Evening News claim Louis van Gaal would prefer to retain the 27 year-old for the coming season after parting with loan flop Radamel Falcao and two-time Golden Boot winner Robin van Persie.
