According to reports from Football Italia and Here Is The City, Inter Milan are closing in on a loan deal for Marseille midfielder Giannelli Imbula.
The 22 year-old was in prominent form last season, bagging two goals and two assists in 37 Ligue 1 appearances whilst averaging 2.4 tackles and 3 successful dribbles per match, leading to a host of speculation regarding his future at Stade Velodrome.
Tottenham and Chelsea have been mooted as potential suitors of Imbula’s for some time, as This Is Futbol revealed earlier this month, whilst London24 claim Arsenal are also keen on the former France U21.
But according to Football Italia and HITC, who both cite Sky Sports Italia as their predominant source, Inter Milan are set to secure a €1million loan deal for the former Ligue 2 Player of the Year (from his spell at Guingamp), with the view to an €18million permanent move next summer.
Interestingly, it’s not the first midfielder Arsenal and Chelsea will have lost to Nerazzurri this week. On Monday, they wrapped up a £25million transfer for former target Geoffrey Kondogbia – as reported by The Guardian.
