According to reports from The Metro this morning, three Premier League clubs are considering bids for Arsenal star Lukas Podolski, including Tyne-wear rivals Newcastle United and Sunderland.
The 29 year-old winger-forward boasts 31 goals in 82 appearances for Arsenal despite predominantly featuring from the bench, but was loaned out to Inter Milan in January after growing frustrated with a lack of first team football at the Emirates.
He’s struggled to find form at the San Siro, scoring just once in 14 appearances thus far, but Podolski’s talent remains undoubted; he’s the third-most capped player in the German national team’s history and was part of the Mannschaft squad that lifted the 2014 World Cup last summer.
With just a year remaining on his Gunners contract, the former FC Koln and Bayern Munich man will likely be available at a reduced fee in the coming transfer window.
But interest from Newcastle and Sunderland, in addition to fellow suitors West Brom, could escalate his price-tag.
