Right Back - Nathaniel Clyne

According to reports from Mirror Football yesterday evening, Chelsea and Manchester United target Nathaniel Clyne is set to snub a contract extension at Southampton to force a move to Old Trafford this summer.

The 23 year-old right-back has been in fantastic form this season, averaging the third-most tackles per match, 3.5, of any Premier League player whilst netting twice in 31 league appearances, as part of a Saints defence boasting the healthiest goals conceded column in the division.

That’s seen him emerge as Roy Hodgson’s preferred choice of No.2 within the England fold, drawing attention from some of the Premier League’s top clubs – as This Is Futbol revealed earlier this week – who have been further enticed by the Three Lions starlet verging upon the final year of his St. Mary’s contract.

As This Is Futbol revealed yesterday, manager Ronald Koeman has given Clyne a ten-day deadline to decide his future, following continued delays on negotiations. But The Mirror claim the Saints boss is set for bitter disappointment, the defender’s heart already set on an Old Trafford move.
