According to reports from The Express yesterday evening, Arsenal have revived their interest in Schalke sensation Julian Draxler.
The winger exploded onto the Bundesliga scene with 13 goals during the 2012/13 campaign and although he’s struggled to rekindle that superlative form since, he’s still widely regarded as one of the most promising prospects in European football.
The 21 year-old was strongly linked with a move to the Emirates ahead of the January 2014 transfer window but opted to stay on at the Veltins Arena instead. And despite his recent struggles, Chelsea, Manchester United and Manchester City – in addition to the Gunners – have all been keeping tabs on the German international.
The Express now claim Arsene Wenger is ready to revive his interest in the midfielder, with plans for a £30million summer bid.
Schalke have continually demonstrated a reluctance to cash-in on their prized asset, but may be forced to this summer after missing out on a Champions League spot.
