According to reports from The Daily Star this morning, Manchester City are preparing a record-breaking transfer fee and an incredible £250k per-week salary for Juventus star Paul Pogba.

The France international failed to make the first team grade during his three years at Manchester United, but since swapping Old Trafford for the Old Lady in summer 2012 has emerged as one of the top midfielders in world football, boasting an eclectic mix of imperious physicality, technical trickery and netting prowess.

After securing a third consecutive Serie A title in Turin, the 22 year-old is widely expected to move on this summer, and The Daily Star moot Chelsea, PSG, Manchester United and Real Madrid as potential suitors. Indeed, Pogba is believed to have already turned down a £210k per-week offer from the French champions – as This Is Futbol revealed last week.

And it appears the Citizens have now gone one step further. According to The Star, they’ll offer Juventus £70million for Pogba in the coming transfer window, and the player himself a £250k per-week after tax contract.

That would dwarf even Yaya Toure’s Etihad pay package of £210k per-week – suggesting City are planning to part with the Ivory Coast talisman this summer.
