In - Pedro

According to reports from The Metro yesterday morning, Pedro could leave Barcelona this summer for just £11million – less than half of the Nou Camp outfit’s original valuation of the prolific winger-forward.

Throughout his tenures with the Catalan outfit and the Spanish national team, the 27 year-old has produced a career return of 114 goals in 365 appearances, also lifting five La Liga titles, two Champions League titles, the 2010 World Cup and the 2012 European Championship.

But Pedro looks set to leave the Nou Camp this summer, having fallen behind £75million summer signing Luis Suarez in the pecking order. He’s made just eight starts in La Liga since the former Liverpool star’s debut in November.

As This Is Futbol revealed last month, Arsenal and Manchester United are both reportedly considering summer bids for the 50-cap Spaniard, with the tabloids rating him at around the £24million mark.

But perhaps due to his contract now on the verge of entering its final year, The Metro claim Barcelona will now sell the attacker for less than half – £10.8million to be precise. Whether that further catalyses the Premier League duo’s interest in Pedro remains to be seen.

Good point, Barca’s transfer ban would make it very silly to sell Pedro, who is fantastic, especially for such a paltry fee.

With the front three they currently have it seems like he’ll never be a consistent starter (although they have been using him as a defensive option which has been odd) but what other cover do they have out wide? They could bring back Afellay or Deulofeu from loan I suppose? I know the transfer ban is only for one more window, but it’s strange that they seem so keen to sell Pedro when the squad immediately available is lacking somewhat.
