Raheem Sterling

According to reports from Mirror Football yesterday evening, Liverpool forward Raheem Sterling has put his Merseyside house on the market and is now searching for alternative residencies in London.

The 20 year-old has arguably been the Anfield outfit’s best player this term, claiming the second-most goals, the second-most assists, the second-most successful dribbles per-match and the most chances created per-match of any Red in the Premier League.

But the England international has refused to extend his Liverpool contract past summer 2017, turning down a £100k per-week deal in the process – as Sterling revealed in a surprisingly candid interview with BBC Sport.

That’s believed to have triggered interest from Arsenal, Chelsea and Real Madrid – as This Is Futbol informed you in April – despite Liverpool’s apparent valuation of £50million for the 2014 European Golden Boy winner.

And Mirror Football now claim Sterling has taken the first steps in putting his Southport home, located twenty miles from Liverpool, on the market whilst he looks at new properties in the capital.

Sterling has many links to London – he progressed through the QPR academy until switching allegiances in 2010, growing up in the shadow of Wembley stadium.

Today’s news will be of disappointment to Manchester City. They’re also keen to sign the Reds talisman, as Mirror Football claimed in a separate report last week, but today’s revelations suggest a move to either Arsenal or Chelsea this summer is far more likely.
