Walcott

In stark contrast to prior rumours claiming a bust-up with Arsene Wenger – as reported by BBC Sport – Theo Walcott is in the news for the right reasons this week, amid reports from The Metro that he’s begun talks to extend his Arsenal contract past 2016.

The Metro aren’t the most reliable of sources – in fact, quite the opposite – but it backs ups claims Wenger made to French TV station beIN Sports during the international break, as reported by ESPN, confirming negotiations regarding a new deal are underway.

Which is something we at This Is Futbol view as fantastic news for Arsenal fans – because the club would be stark raving mad to part with the Gunners winger on the cheap this summer.

And to prove we aren’t in need of a quick trip to the funny farm ourselves, we’ve even come up with FIVE reasons why the north Londoners need get the England international on extended terms as soon as possible.

I am hoping that the team Manager will see reason and extend the contract of one of the club’s most reliable star (Theo Walcott), injuries wanted to disturbed him but let us be realistic and do not allow Theo Walcott to go away at the end of the season. Theo is promising for the Gunners like any others star in the team together, they can make it up. Better days are ahead of the team in the coming years.

Yes, thanks. Hope Arsenal keeps this guy and also, some other duds like Wilshere, Diaby et el. That way Arsenal will remain a non-threat to top clubs and will be happy to try to secure 4th place trophy on an annual basis. Arsenal over-achieved this season, so far anyway. Next season it will be like Liverpool.
