According to reports from The Express this afternoon, Manchester United star Angel Di Maria could well decide the fate of compatriot and Liverpool target Javier Pastore.
According to the British tabloid, Liverpool are plotting a summer move for the Argentina international as he enters the final year of his contract at PSG.
Negotiations are currently ongoing and the 25 year-old’s agent has insisted a contract extension is nearly complete, claiming only ‘bureaucratic issues’ are holding up the deal.
But The Express claim the Ligue 1 champions are holding out until they receive word of Angel Di Maria’s future at Manchester United.
Although the 27 year-old has claimed the second-most assists of any Premier League player this term, 10, he’s yet to hit the heights expected since moving to Old Trafford in a £59million deal last summer.
PSG are keen to take him off the Old Trafford outfit’s hands – which would then force them to cash-in on Pastore – but Louis van Gaal appears to willing to retain the attacking midfielder for now.
