JanuzajWhilst Manchester United’s big new signings have generated a large amount of good will, they are likely to create some issues within the squad. You can’t sign that many top players without limiting the game-time of some of The Red Devils’ pre-existing personnel. Even those who didn’t disappoint last season could find themselves squeezed out this year.

That’s the price of progress, I suppose.

But what are we to make of Adnan Januzaj’s regression into a super substitute? Is the Belgian ace not a prime example of a player in need of game time if he’s to fulfil his full potential? Is Louis Van Gaal on the verge of spurning his talent?

I certainly hope not. I can’t help but feel that The Red Devils have a Raheem Sterling-esque talent on their hands, if they can nurture him in the right way.

Last season he made 35 appearances in total and found the back of the net 4 times. If things continue in their current stead, he won’t repeat the feat this year. This could seriously damage his development.

Luckily, there’s a rather easy solution to this troubling issue. The Metro claim that there are plenty of clubs hoping to grab Adnan Januzaj on loan during the January transfer window. The source suggests that both Fiorentina and Juventus are interested in snapping him up.

Both clubs are good options, but Louis Van Gaal needs to assess which side could offer him the most game time. If either side can make promises regarding the amount of game-time the player would receive, then The Red Devils would be foolish to turn their advances down.

Serie A isn’t the best League in Europe, but it’s competitive enough. It’ll be a good experience for the 19-year-old, who’ll get to pitch his attacking flair against some rather staunch defending.

Last Monday night Adnan Januzaj scored a hat-trick for Manchester United’s U21 side against Sunderland. He looks like a player who’s on the verge of greatness. Now he just needs to be given the proper opportunity.

What’s your take? What does the future hold in store for Adnan Januzaj?
