Munir El-HaddadiFans had to wait a few games, but Danny Welbeck finally managed to get off the mark for The Gunners during their 3-0 victory over Aston Villa. He had a few good moments against Manchester City (and looked alert against a strong Borussia Dortmund side), but this was the first time he had really been able to stamp his mark on a game.

He’s now got an assist and a goal to his name. Let’s hope that he’s positively surging with confidence at the moment. Let’s hope that The Gunners don’t come to miss Olivier Giroud too much.

Either way, I’m not sure that Arsenal have enough players in this department. In years gone by, Arsene Wenger would overload the centre-forward position with talent, practically guaranteeing that his side would be spoilt for goals during the season. Now he’s overloaded his midfield and left the centre-forward position (and his entire defense) a little under-cooked.

Olivier Giroud and Danny Welbeck are good options, but don’t Arsenal need another back-up man?

This brings me to The Metro‘s claim that Arsenal are ready to ‘battle it out’ with Bayern Munich and Paris Saint Germain for Barcelona prodigy Munir El Haddadi. This should come as very exciting news indeed. You only need to look at Arsenal’s competition to see how highly rated the youngster is.

El Haddadi is only 19-years-old, but he’s already got an impressive profile. He’s made four appearances for Barca’s first team and has once found the back of the net. He even has a cap for the Spanish international side, which is impressive given all the talent that they can call upon.

The Metro claim that Munir El Haddadi has a £9.4m release clause written into his Barcelona contract. If Arsenal really are interested, they can simply offer that much money and his current club will be forced to entertain the offer. Then Arsene Wenger will need to work his magic on the player in order to convince him to move to The Emirates.

Let’s hope that he proves to be persuasive. It’ll take some good work to convince El Haddadi to move to Arsenal, rather than Munich or Paris.

What’s your take? Should The Gunners look to snap up this Barcelona starlet?
