ReusNext summer, one of the world’s best players will be available for just £20m. You can bet your bottom dollar that there’ll be plenty of Premier League clubs interested in snapping him up.

The player in question is Borussia Dortmund’s superstar winger, Marco Reus. Next summer, a release clause will activate in his contract that will allow other clubs to snap him up for the aforementioned fee.Given that he’s turned down offers of a new contract from his current club, it looks like he’ll be playing his football elsewhere next season.

Borussia Dortmund’s sporting director, Michael Zorc, spoke recently about what the future holds for Reus: “Well, there are also beyond this country’s [Germany] borders other clubs for which Marco is interesting.”

The Express then go on to fill in the blanks, suggesting that Premier League clubs Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal are interested in signing Reus. The only surprise is that moneybags Manchester City and Chelsea aren’t in the chase.

I can’t help but wonder if he’d fancy joining the German contingent that are currently playing their football at The Emirates. Maybe he’d like to play his football alongside the likes of Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski?

I’m sure Arsenal fans would love to see him turn up at their club. The man is a true marvel. In 92 games for Dortmund, he has scored 43 goals. That would be an impressive return for a striker, let alone a winger. He’s got pace, technique and a real footballing brain. At 25-years-old, he could go on to become one of the best players in the world. He has so much raw potential.

Arsenal aren’t short on midfield talent, but a player like Marco Reus would improve any side. In fact, the German ace could help to transform The Gunners into a side who could regularly compete for silverware.

Arsene Wenger certainly won’t want to see Marco Reus move to a rival club. Let’s just hope that he’s able to put together a compelling wage-packet and close the deal.

What’s your take? Could The Gunners really close a deal for this German wonderkid?
