Manchester United make last ditch £55m bid: can they seal the deal?

Angel Di Maria (Argentina):Louis Van Gaal doesn’t seem to be in too big a rush to sign anybody this summer, but I’m sure that fans would like to see another player or two turn up at Old Trafford.

Luke Shaw (Southampton’s former left-back) and Ander Herrera (a technically gifted midfielder from Athletic Bilbao) are both good signings, but I’m not sure that they’re good enough to lead The Red Devils to Premier League success next season. If that’s Van Gaal’s aim, then surely some more recruits need to be brought in?

It’s not like Manchester United aren’t getting linked to some decent options this summer. The same names seem to be popping up again and again: Arturo Vidal, Mats Hummels, Thomas Vermaelen and more. Why can’t The Red Devils just hurry up and close another deal?

There’s another name that keeps popping up in conjunction with Manchester United: Angel Di Maria. I can’t help but feel that of all the players linked to United, he’s the man who’s best placed to take the club back to its glory days.

Having been linked to the Argentine ace all summer long, things have gone quiet on this front over the last month or so. But according to The Mirror, The Red Devils are ready to make one ‘final bid’ for Di Maria. Could Van Gaal finally be about to get his man?

The aforementioned source claims that United are willing to pay as much as £55m for Di Maria. That’s a huge amount of cash. Surely it’s enough to earn Real Madrid’s attention?

With new recruits James Rodriguez and Toni Kroos looking to make their mark at The Bernabeu next season, Angel Di Maria may find his game time limited. With this in mind, surely the player in question is ready to consider moving on? His club may even be willing to sell him in order to recoup some of the cash they’ve spent during the current transfer window.

Manchester United need to announce themselves in the transfer market once again. What better way to do this than by spending big on Angel Di Maria?

What’s your take? Should The Red Devils be interested in Angel Di Maria?

It is simple as this, if Van Gaal does not sign any new players we will not be in the Top 4 this season. Then Van Gaal will be joining Moyes on the dole queue.
