A while back Arsenal fans started to get excited about the prospect of signing Real Madrid star Sami Khedira. Shortly after Germany’s World Cup victory it looked as though a deal was about to be announced. Then there were some rumblings about Khedira holding out for a bigger wage packet and things went quiet.
I think it’s fair to say that Arsenal fans are disappointed. Whilst Arsene Wenger has made a number of excellent additions to his squad this summer, it strikes me that Sami Khedira would have been the icing on the cake.
A player like Khedira could prove to be the glue that holds a team like Arsenal together. With The Gunners’ technical talents (Santi Cazorla, Aaron Ramsey, Jack Wilshere, Mesut Ozil, etc) needing plenty of time and space on the ball, a midfield enforcer type could prove to be just the ticket.
Khedira’s good enough to come in and make an instant impact at The Emirates. He’d immediately displace Mathieu Flamini and Mikel Arteta (who’s good enough to play further up the pitch any way) and immediately improve The Gunners first team.
So why, oh why is this deal floundering? Make it happen Arsene!
According to The Metro, the deal’s not dead yet. The source notes that Madrid have already accepted Arsenal’s bid for their player. Unfortunately, the player’s wage demands have prevented the deal from falling into place. That’s not a problem for Bayern Munich, who are reportedly waiting for his contract to expire at the end of the season. At this stage they’ll be able to snap him up on a free transfer.
Naturally enough, Real Madrid are hoping that he’ll end up at Arsenal and that they’ll receive something in return for the player. The Metro suggests that ‘it’s not clear whether Madrid would be willing to drop their asking price to persuade Arsenal to close the transfer’. Let’s hope that they’re at least willing to consider it.
There’s no telling how important a signing Sami Khedira could prove to be. Whilst I wouldn’t condone The Gunners going overboard with his wages, I do hope the two parties can come to an agreement.

From the facts and know all this deal is very much on and will happen , it’s all about the waiting game ,Khedira wants X amount of wages Arsenal want to pay X and Bayern are waiting to get him free, The way I see this going is …. Real WILL DROP their price to allow Arsenal to pay Khedira his wages demands then the deal will happen if they don’t Khedira will stay for one more season and go to Bayern for free , which is the better option?
