Arturo Vidal (Juventus)Depending on who you read, Manchester United have either upped their interest in Juventus midfielder, Arturo Vidal, or pulled out of a potential deal for the Chilean ace. Things seem to change so quickly in the transfer market that it’s difficult to know where things stand.

Fans will certainly hope that their club continues to chase Arturo Vidal. After a tough season, Arturo Vidal looks like a ray of light shining through the darkness. He’s the kind of player who has enough ability to completely revolutionise Manchester United’s midfield and set them back on the pathway to glory.

Last season The Red Devils were forced to rely on players like Tom Cleverley, Shinji Kagawa and Marouane Fellaini – players who don’t seem to have the ability to effect games in any meaningful way.

Whilst signing Juan Mata and Ander Herrera is likely to help in this regard, I wouldn’t be surprised if Louis Van Gaal wanted another option or two. I’m sure he’d find it difficult to turn down Arturo Vidal, if the player’s really for sale this summer.

According to The Star, Vidal’s future at Juventus is now a ‘major doubt’, following the surprise resignation of his manager, Antonio Conte. After three years in charge at Juve, Conte has now decided to sling his hook. Vidal could be about to follow suit.

If this is true, the door could be wide open for Manchester United to swoop in and get their man. Indeed, The Star claim that Van Gaal is ready to make a £32m offer for the Chilean ace.

In 95 appearances for Juventus, Arturo Vidal has found the back of the net 28 times. That’s an excellent return for a central midfielder. It’s also worth noting that Vidal has just enjoyed what may well be his best season as a professional footballer. Now looks like the right time for Manchester United to swoop in.

This deal won’t be easy to close, but could prove to be massively influential to Manchester United’s continuing recovery.

What’s your take? Could The Red Devils now be in a position to close this deal?
