How on Earth can Manchester United pull out of crisis mode now?

Juan MataThe word ‘crisis’ is thrown around too often in footballing circles. It’s a world where hyperbole tends to rule supreme and fans are quick to jump to extreme opinions. When you support a team for so long, it can often be difficult to rationalise certain situations. I wonder, for instance, what Arsenal made of their 5-1 thrashing at the hands of Liverpool last season.

It’s hardly a crisis for the Gunners, but they’re certainly in an ugly place at the moment.

Manchester United, however, have fully-paid for their membership to the ‘crisis’ club. Since taking over at Old Trafford, David Moyes has somehow managed to drive this once great club into the ground. For one reason or another (there are plenty of reasons, in fact too many to list them here), Manchester United have been unable to steady the ship and can’t even seem to beat the small fries at the moment.

Stoke City and Fulham are clubs that a Sir Alex Ferguson side would have picked off with ease. It’s tough to see the Red Devils struggle against relegation fodder. It’s time to face facts: Manchester United are now a mid-table club.

I can’t help but wonder what Juan Mata makes of the whole affair. He’s just made a big money move from Stamford bridge to Old Trafford and can’t be all that happy with what he’s seen so far. This Manchester United side lack inspiration, imagination and any kind of guile.

As it happens, Juan Mata did send a message out to the fans after the Fulham draw. Here are some choice tidbits:

“Honestly, I think football is being cruel with us. We did everything to get the three points, but in the end this is about goals and Fulham scored in the last minute… It seems impossible if you look at the stats, but we couldn’t win and it would have been a very important victory.

There is something we can always count on – the team’s passion and sacrifice. We did fight until the end, and that’s what I felt on the pitch, but once again we can’t give excuses. The way to carry on is to stick together, the team and the fans, learn from mistakes and be positive, and we will show the character this team has always had.” (Source: The Mirror)

I have to say, it’s tough to see Juan Mata and co. turning this one around. The change needs to come from the top. David Moyes needs to show a little more bravery when it comes to setting up his team, or he needs to hitch his way out of Manchester United. Here’s hoping either eventuality happens sooner rather than later.

What’s your take? Can Juan Mata help turn Manchester United’s fortunes around?

Moyes can fuck off for all I care. He is an absolute shit head of a manager who plays with outdated tactics, and doesn’t have the balls to move Rooney out of the No. 10 role just incase he gets pissed off. I would honestly prefer if we get someone like Gus Hiddink – a manager who knows his shit rather than this ginger headed fuck face.

Nothing good can happen while Moyes is still there.

simple get rid of moyes even he must know his times up continuously going on about his 6 year contract long term rebuilding bla bla bla who is he trying to convince, himself?

How much do we need to compensate to Donald duck (Moyes) if we sack him after this season? Pay him. And instead of big money spending on players like koke and rues. Get klopp – offer him 4 yrs contract. How can utd spend big if financial fair play is put into use very soon.

I think glazers are bluffing just like tom and hicks. No money already – Why I say this coz if glazers had the money to sack moyes – they would have sacked him long time ago and brought in a intelligent coach in dec like klopp to get into champs lge. Champs lge qualification – has revenue.

If glazers don’t sack moyes after this season – I really hope an oil tycoon takes over utd jus like john henry fixed tom and hicks and hodgen.

Don’t buy the bullshit gives moyes time and it is not in utd culture to sack manager. Look at spurs and learn. if no money to get klopp at least give us laudrap
