Arturo VidalThe very last thing that David Moyes needed was another shoddy result against a team that his club should have beaten. But such was the case when Manchester United battled it out with Southampton and drew the game 1-1.

Naturally enough, the critics are out in force and David Moyes stock is currently extremely low. Should he continue to fail to produce the goods, he could well be forced out of Manchester United.

But given the lack of creativity in Manchester United’s midfield, there’s only so much he can do at the moment. He’s been forced to experiment, by playing youngsters like Adnan Januzaj (who recently signed a new five-year contract).

Whilst his decision to exclude Shinji Kagawa baffles me, I can understand why he may be waiting for the January transfer window with baited breath. If he still has his job by then, he’ll be provided with a great opportunity to turn things around.

Of course, this raises the question: who can the Red Devils bring in to fix all their issues?

How about Juventus’ crafty midfield talent, Arturo Vidal?

The Chilean international seems to have all the qualities necessary to make it at Old Trafford. He’s a hard-worker, who isn’t afraid to put in a tackle. But he’s best known for his attacking prowess, quick feet and confidence in front of goal.

Last season he scored 10 Serie A goals and also grabbed 8 assists. That’s a fine return for a midfielder.

What’s more, his situation at Juve is becoming all the more perilous. According to Sport Witness, the Chilean is stalling on signing a new contract. He’s also disappointed manager Antonio Conte by featuring in both games for his national side during the International break and taking a late flight back.

This, of course, has helped fuel rumours that he could be on his way to Manchester United during the January transfer window.

Of course, it would cost a good deal of money to persuade Juventus to sell. But given the constant rise of (ex-Manchester United star) Paul Pogba, they may well be willing to consider David Moyes’ advances.

I certainly hope that the Scot moves in for Vidal when the transfer window re-opens. He could be exactly what the club needs to awaken from its slumber.

What’s your take? Should Manchester United move in for this Serie A sensation?
