Should Liverpool make a move for this £15m prodigy?

Christian EriksenLiverpool fans were disappointed earlier this season to see their club miss out on Henrikh Mkhitaryan. The Reds had been strongly linked to the free scoring Armenian midfielder, who eventually ended up at Borussia Dortmund.

This surprised many. Liverpool have been acting fast in this summer’s transfer window to bring in the players they wanted. This was the first (and so far only) instance that could potentially be described as a failure on the part of Brendan Rodgers.

But this supposed failure may well turn out to be a blessing in surprise. It may well open the door to another signing, for a player who I would argue is better suited to the Reds midfield and is more in line with Brendan’s current transfer policy.

Christian Eriksen has been linked to Liverpool for over a year now. These links seem to come and go, but I certainly think he’s a player who Brendan should be pursuing. He has the same potential that Joe Allen did before his move to Anfield, but he combines this with real confidence.

It’s hard to see a player like Christian Eriksen flopping on the big stage.

According to Sky Sports, only Liverpool and Roma are currently in for the young Danish star. Whilst I’m surprised more clubs aren’t circling a player who looks certain to have a big future, it does leave the door open for a potential Liverpool bargain.

Eriksen only has a year left on his Ajax contract, so his club aren’t in a great position to negotiate. It’s thought that £15m could be enough to make a move happen. Ajax coach De Boer recently told the Press:

“It is up to Christian what he wants. If he feels good going to Liverpool, then it is up to him. I would want nothing more than having him with us for a few more years.

But we realise the interest in this kind of player is huge. And I can also understand that he wants to make another step in his career. I can’t stop him.”

The fact that he mentions Liverpool is interesting. It suggests that this isn’t just Paper-based speculation.

Unlike many of Liverpool’s current summer signings, Eriksen would make an immediate impact in the Reds first team. His vision, passing range and energy could be just the kick the club needs to help them along their way to success.

£15m is a lot of money – that’s for sure, but in Eriksen’s case it may be a good investment. Henrikh Mkhitaryan who?

What’s your take? Should the Reds go in for Christian Eriksen?

I actually don’t understand. With players like Benteke. Mkhitaryan, erikson. They are all class players yet we wait we wait we wait and then as soon as we are about to put a bid in, another club has already put in a bid, been accepted, agreed contract and BAM another player Liverpool has lost out on. You are killing me liverpool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
