suarez-belakangLiverpool face another dilemma, not with Andy Carroll this time but star forward Luis Suarez.

The Uruguayan forward sparked controversy yet again during Liverpool’s game with Chelsea, appearing to bite Chelsea centre back, Branislav Ivanovic on his arm. Despite his actions, Suarez was not cautioned and went on to score a last minute equaliser in a 2-2 draw.

Liverpool will be unwilling to offload the striker who has notched 30 goals in 43 appearances, the first Liverpool player to reach 30 since Fernando Torres. If it wasn’t for the little Uruguayan’s influence, Liverpool would be struggling to finish in the top half. But as Brendan Rodgers said after the incident “nobody is bigger than the club”. A comment that might signal the end of the strikers Liverpool career.

There’s no doubt that the guy has talent, but this might be the last straw for the Liverpool management. This incident could not have come at a worse time, as this week marks the 24th anniversary of the Hillsborough disaster and this incident has brought Liverpool into the news for all the wrong reasons.

This is not his first controversy though, and these could be reasons for Liverpool to get rid of the striker.

1. November 2007 – Suspended by Ajax for dressing-room altercation with team mate Albert Luque

2. July 2010 – Denied Ghana a clear goal in the World Cup quarter finals with a deliberate hand ball. Then celebrated wildly as Asamoah Gyan missed the resulting penalty.

3. November 2010 – Suspended for 7 games after biting PSV Eindhoven’s Otman Bakkal.

4. October 2011 – Accused of racially abusing Manchester United left back Patrice Evra. Banned for 8 games and fined £40,000.

5. December 2011 – Given 1 match ban for making an offensive hand gesture to Fulham fans.

6. February 2012 – Refused to shake Patrice Evra’s hand at Old Trafford.

7. October 2012 – Celebrated goal in derby by diving in front of Everton manager David Moyes, who had earlier said that “divers such as Suárez are putting fans off the English game.”

8. January 2013 – Appeared to handle ball before scoring winner versus Mansfield in FA Cup 3rd round.

9. March 2013 – Appeared to punch Chilean defender Gonzalo Jara during a World Cup qualifier for Uruguay.

10. April 2013 – The latest controversy in which he appeared to bite Branislav Ivanovic

Suarez has apologised on Twitter stating “I’ve just spoken to Ivanovic on the phone and I could apologise directly to him. Thanks for accepting”.
On Monday, the FA charged Luis Suarez with violent conduct and is likely to face a hefty ban.

Boxer, Mike Tyson has, since the incident, followed the Uruguayan on Twitter. Tyson is infamous for biting Evander Holyfield’s ear, removing a 1 inch chunk before spitting it out in the ring.

What’s your take on this? Should Liverpool keep or sell Suarez?
