1. Bundesliga: Hamburger SV - BV Borussia DortmundIt’s a transfer story that has done the rounds for the best part of a year. But could it be that things are finally coming to fruition?

According to The Telegraph, Borussia Dortmund’s goal-scoring centre-forward, Robert Lewandowski, is ‘keen’ to secure a move to Manchester United.

This, I think, should afford United fans plenty of reason for celebration. As if they didn’t have enough reasons to be cheerful.

A 3-0 victory over an abject Aston Villa side was enough to secure the title, as Robin Van Persie fired in a 31-minute hat-trick.

At this stage, it’s worth noting that Manchester United have been extremely strong moving forward. They have a strong claim to having the best attack in Europe, outside of Real Madrid and Barcelona.

Wayne Rooney would waltz his way into just about any team. His passion and drive are beyond compare and he’s also a fantastic striker of the ball.

Then there’s Javier Hernandez, who has scored an impressive 16-goals this season, despite not having regular football. His mobility and desire to get on the end of crosses is a sight to behold. There’s also Danny Welbeck, who hasn’t exactly found his shooting boots this season, but has been able to contribute in other ways.

Finally, there’s the man who delivered Manchester United this season’s title: Robin Van Persie. His free-scoring over the majority of the year has made all the difference.

Adding to this attack would surely secure further success for years to come for Manchester United. It may well cause some trouble too (too many cooks?), but I’d say that this is a good position for Sir Alex to be in.

It’s claimed that Lewandowski has told his ‘associates’ that despite Bayern Munich’s interest, he’d prefer a move to the Premier League. He’s also singled out Manchester United as his preference over and above other interested parties like Arsenal and Chelsea.

If this is really the case, I hope that Sir Alex pushes a deal through. Borussia Dortmund, won’t want to let him go for cheap, but he’d be a worthy investment. He’s a player who seems to be custom built for the Premier League and is ready for a move to a big club like Manchester United (not to diminish the stature of Dortmund, who are worthy Champions League semi-finalists). Let’s hope this deal comes off.

What’s your take? Should Manchester United finally finalise a deal for Robert Lewandowski?
