Time to stand up and fight

|

Football isn’t just the beautiful game it is also supposed to be a simple game. Someone should tell those who run the Scottish game.

A plan no fan wants and which has already failed in another country is the solution put forward by the men with the power in our game. Two leagues of 12 that split into three leagues of eight halfway through are totally absurd. This is the master plan to rebuild Scottish football. These proposals mean that Rangers, the biggest supported team in the country will have to spend another season in the bottom tier of Scottish football; promotion this season being rendered meaningless. Is this any way to treat the supporters of one club?

The man at the helm; Stewart Regan, has been a disaster for the Scottish game and should have been shown the door months ago, instead he is to be allowed to wreak the same havoc on the SFL as he has on the SPL. The main problem is that no one is willing to acknowledge those who run the game in this country are the real danger to the future. It is unbelievable that Stewart Regan is going to be allowed to spread his failed philosophy through the rest of Scottish football until there is nothing left but a wasteland.

When it suited the SFA and Neil Doncaster’s SPL to listen to fans on throwing Rangers out of the top flight, the authorities were all ears. Now all of a sudden the views of the supporters are ignored when reconstruction is proposed. Under Regan and Doncaster, Scottish football has never been so divided and with the Scotland international team sitting at 70 in world rankings and without a manager, this man is going to be allowed to ruin what is left of the national game.

What is clear is that Regan and Doncaster have failed and should not be allowed to influence the Scottish game anymore.  Football in this country is too important to be left to such a divisive person as Stewart Regan who can’t leave petty unprofessional behaviour, such as seen on his Twitter account, behind.

Scottish football is without a leader and a voice and the game needs help. It is sad that there seems to be no one with any say in the Scottish game willing to speak out and tell Stewart Regan it is time to go. David Longmuir, head of the SFL, seemed to be a suitable candidate but alas he seems to have been swayed by whatever gifts the SFA/SPL cabal have been offering. Sadly with David Longmuir’s surrender, there seems no one willing or able to stand up and fight for the Scottish game.
