Wilfried Zaha, Crystal Palace’s wiley young winger has now been linked to all and sundry. As Sky Sports note, he’s the Championships ‘hottest property’ and has been strongly linked to Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham.

It doesn’t just look like he’s destined for the top flight – in all likelihood, he’s going to end up at a top club.

And it’s little wonder: Zaha is a fantastic young talent – one of the best players in the world in his age bracket. At just 20-years-old, he has already demonstrated a great deal of potential. He’s pacey, fleet-footed and direct. He’s been making mincemeat of Championship full-backs all season and looks ready to make the step up.

But who will he be entering the Premier League with?

The player himself has made his position clear: “I’m not a teenager any more. I’ve played more than 100 first-team games and this year is crucial to develop my football career. I want to establish myself in the Premier League and in international football. I’ve played a lot in the Championship so having that new challenge in the Premier League, where everyone wants to be, would be great.

To be honest, if I had the chance in January and Palace agreed, it’s something I’d want to go for.”

He’s up for a move and according to Sky Sports, Sir Alex Ferguson has been monitoring Zaha. Isn’t that just typical? Sir Alex has a habit of being in the market for the very best young talent. Zaha certainly falls within this bracket.

Whilst he’d probably fall behind the likes of Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young and Luis Nani in the pecking order at Manchester United, you have to say, it’s fairly likely he’d get game time. If he impresses, who’s to say he wouldn’t be a regular feature in the United team within a couple of seasons?

This could just be a case of Fergie snapping up a young talent so that other clubs can’t get their hands on him. On the other hand, it’s an investment that could pay off significantly over the next few years.

Zaha’s sale will bring in a significant sum of cash for Crystal Palace, who will be able to cope with his absence. Manchester United may well end up with one of the best players in the world in a few years’ time. That sounds like a good deal to me – a win-win!

What’s your take? Would Wilfried Zaha fit in at Manchester United?

I know it’s a waste of breath for us the helpless Utd fans but can someone confront SAF and scream at him: Utd need a decent midfielder, a Fellaini and not another fancy winger. Did you know A Young cost more than Ozil, Khedira et el?
