Dear Arsene,

When you joined Arsenal on 30th September 1996, I have to admit I didn’t know a lot about you. Nobody really did. I can remember the phrase ‘Arsene who?’ being used a lot. I soon learned who you were and was then pleased that Arsenal had hired you. Very quickly you made an impression at Arsenal and we finished a respectable 3rd in your first season.

The next season was a dream season for Arsenal fans, one of the most prominent seasons in my mind, in the last few weeks of the season we pulled back 13 points from Manchester United to win the league at Everton and we also went on to win  the F.A cup. It was my first double ever and I was so excited that we had actually won it.

The seasons that followed that were always full of beautiful football. Arsene, you bought the best players and you changed the way football was played. Players had stricter diets and regular body and mental checks to enable them to play for you. You had a knack and knowledge for finding the best players and building a team around perfect striker partnerships

You used your knowledge to create one of the best teams in England, and you were responsible for 3 League wins, 5 F.A Cups and in that, 2 doubles. You got us to a Champion League final against Barcelona, one of the best clubs in the world Yes, we lost but we got there and that’s what mattered. We competed every season and there was always ambition there. You wanted to win and you wanted to make Arsenal the best in the world.

Arsene you will always be remembered for what is my favourite footballing moment and that is ’The Invincibles’. That was amazing, you had the perfect team there, everyone adored each other and when that team walked on that pitch, they were a winning team, you could see it just by looking at them. Each and every player on that team deserved to be there and they were of the highest quality. They were your team Arsene. They used to come running up to you at the sidelines when they scored and there was an air of unity amongst team and manager. You made them and they made you, fully a team effort.

You were known as Le Prof for a reason. You deserved every bit of praise for what you have achieved at Arsenal in the past and you have achieved things other managers haven’t. But something went wrong after 2006. Was it moving from the majestic Highbury to The ‘Souless Bowl’ that is the Emirates? Or was it David Dein, your right hand man and close friend leaving the club? Kroenke’s investment? Did you lose focus on football because you were concentrating on finance?

i dont know wher our great Arsenal is heading to. From 2006 this team is failing to learn from its mistakes keep on making mistakes. Nothing positive from our transfer market yet we are weak in many areas. I dont see ourself finishing above Spurs and Chelsea this season. Arsene and ur Board u make me sick

Contract agreement is all about hired and fired. When u are performing good, u get commendation but when u are not performing well, u get condemation . We have praised him for what he has achieved with our beloved arsenal and he will be remembered forever in the history of the club but i think its time for a change bcos it seems his stratedgy is not working anymore .

I’ve worked it out now, this blog is written by Ricky Gervais. I claim my £5

  • reverted says:

he (wenger) is a lost soul at the moment and has lost sight of what is important. time for a change. sorry and thank you.

  • DAWA says:

Good and interesting piece. But what do you think is alternative solutions apart from Wenger must go.I do not think the present board will ask him to leave.to them he is the Hen that” lay the golden eggs”

  • linus says:

  • I.P.from South Africa says:

Professor Wenger should have been replaced at least 3 seasons ago.He definitely has become an arrogant person, which is invariably the signs of a self-indulgent fool who is backed and encouraged by people who have a misplaced understanding of what professional sport is and should be all about.

  • s j little says:

Accumuling over 12 players who are not wanted by other Clubs does not make much economic sense.
Add Sahin to that list, after all he Wengers main target last August, and Liverpool havn’t found him much good!

  • swe-gooner says:

we just have to wait until the 30 juni 2014 when hes contract expires. Then we can start hoping again. The future will save us.

  • Borntobeagunner(btbag) says:

You bloggers amazes somebody like me. Your write up is baseless, if you think iam lying then ask Liverpool, Spurs etc fans. You should have suggested who will come in and do a better job at AFC with 100% assurance of winning trophies and playing good futbal within our means. What makes you think Arsene fans are the minors? Dont write to suit your mind and the mind of your likes b’cos some of us will surely know that’s what you’re writing for, rendering your blogging baseless. Gunners through thick and thin till Arsene prove you and your likes wrong. Till then i will remain a gunner, after then, i will switch my allegiance to Moyes and Everton, that is, if he (Moyes) is still at Everton then, if he is not, i will look around for a club purely managed by a pure natural principled and disciplined, non corrupt and reality man, and not a club with all anti tactics futbal minded managers that want things done at all cost just to win the fan’s mind. Even if Arsene goes to appease your likes, i bet Arsene will still up there as one of the best manager till death do him and futbal part, but same may or might not be said of AFC from then on. Can you bet Otherwise?

It takes a lifetime to build a legacy,a couple of games to destroy it.

It is always right n advisable to leave d stage when d ovation is loudest.we av witnessed two out of three.the GOOD theBAD n the URGLY.to see arsenal in EUROPA will complete the TRIO. Arsene kronke act fast, buy quality players .already u are a good scout for ur ambitious colleagues.consider we fans.

  • musterphy says:

WENGER CAN NOT DO MORE THAN THAT, IS ALREADY LOST SYCOLOGICALLY.PLS. REPLACE HIM

    • Oguntuase Amos says:

Mind your spellings please. It is spelled Psychologically. You people should learn to appreciate others. Arsene Wenger is still the man for the team. The board will not contract other managers who depend on engagement of superstars to win trophies, they would destroy the vision of Arsenal, it would be back to square one and the team would become a laughing stock. If you care to believe, the trophyless circle at Arsenal is closing at the end of this season, the vision is maturing and the dividends are about rolling in. But you may not believe, nevertheless you will witness everything.

I will not allow my son to be an Arsenal because he may not have the heart to bear this pain am passing through. Supporting Arsenal has become so frustrating in recent years

  • Victor Bassey says:

there are time and seasons for every thing. So it is in the case of Arsene Wenger. There was time he was the most honoured coach in the world in which whenever you head of him you gave your kudos to him. But now an old man, woman young boys and girls even small will wakeup in the morning head of Arsene Wenger and said all form of rubbish about him. Why? Because he has bring ARSENAL from HERO to ZERO, due to his strategies. Arsene Wenger is a man of his own, he did things at his own wish, he don’t care about others feelling, that is why he is failing. They said tow heads are better than one. In his case, he only use his head to sort thing out.
So prefer him to go instead for him to spoil the good work did for us, or carry stain put on his name.

  • karis says:

he is a hostage of his success, so blind to see, thats why to him ‘we showed our quality’ when we lose or draw with relegation teams. we sel our best players n stat looking fr exceptional talent called santos, park, n squid-my foot. we play top quality Ramsey, Djoru, et al ..

  • Jonathan495 says:

If Wenger knows what is best for him, he should go and teach economics in one university in Paris, thats only if Le prof has the qualification. He has actually lost touch in manageral ability
