The long awaited confirmation arrived this morning from Arsenal.com that we have signed Santi Cazorla from Malaga. The fee is not disclosed but it is thought to have been around the £15-17mil mark. I would be quite curious to know whether this transfer has beaten our record of £17mil for Arshavin. (Source: BBC).
I’m excited about this signing. Santi Cazorla is an amazing player for Arsenal to buy and he will really strengthen up our midfield. Cazorla is an attacking midfielder who generally plays in the centre but he is versatile and can play on either right or left which is apparently due to the fact he is ambidextrous. He looks very strong and is generally known for his pace.
I’ve watched a few videos just to remind myself how Cazorla plays and I think he is very much a Ray Parlour type of player and we haven’t had that for ages. I think when playing with Arteta, Song, The Ox and even Wilshere he will definitely enable our midfield to be stronger. He has said how happy he is to be joining Arsenal

I think every Gooner in the world is happy that we have completed the signing of Cazorla. I can’t wait to see him play this season. Welcome to Arsenal Santi Cazorla!
I’d also be interested to see what effect this signing has on Robin Van Persie’s mindset. It’s clear now that Arsenal have shown ambition during this transfer window. They’ve brought in Cazorla, Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud. You can’t say much fairer than that. With rumours of further transfers abounding (Nuri Sahin, anyone?) it could be a bumper summer for the Gunners. Whether Robin Van Persie will still be on board at the end of the ride remains to be seen. It’s looking more and more like he could end up regretting it if he leaves.

Santi Cazorla is a fantastic signing for our club and will be a massive player for us. It really would not surprise me if he is in contention for player of the year at the end of next season.
He has massive natural ability, and will compensate for us losing Cesc last year.
