The Summer Transfer Window slams shut this Friday and managers and chief executives across the country will be working flat out to ensure that their squads are fully capable for what will entail over the next 5 months. So far Chelsea have been the big spenders securing the services of Victor Moses, Eden Hazard, Oscar and César Azpilicueta, just to name a few. The Van Persie saga kept us gripped before the Dutchman went on to lay his hat at Old Trafford, there have also been surprise moves like Tim Cahill’s £1m switch to New York Red Bull’s and Adam Johnson’s shock £10m deal to see him move to Sunderland, all of which have made sure that we’ve maintained interest along the way.

So what can we expect in the next 3 1/2 days?

With Arsenal losing Alex Song to Barcelona and the gloomy situation regarding Jack Wilshire’s fitness, it would appear that Arsenal need to bring in a player to slot into the central midfield area alongside Mikel Arteta. The name that has been circulated in the media for weeks now is French International Yann M’Vila, but The Daily Mail write that Arsene Wenger may face stiff competition to land the player from North London rivals Tottenham, who are also excited by the 22 year old.

Arsenal have however lined up another option, according to The Guardian Arsene Wenger may be lining up a shock move for Yohan Cabaye. The Newcastle midfielder impressed many last season, obviously Wenger was one of them, but details are very vague. Arsenal’s hunt for a midfielder may indeed take them all the way to deadline day.

Back to Tottenham Hotspur, and if rumours are to be believed AVB and Daniel Levy may be very busy over the next few days with both Loic Remy and Willian being linked with moves from Marseille and Shaktar Donestk, respectively, to White Hart Lane. The Metro reports that Tottenham will spend £50m on players before the 1st September and  that the club are also considering Moussa Dembele, Raul Mereiles and Isco as back up options if talks fall through for the pair. The article also notes that André Villas-Boas is keen to sign French ‘keeper Hugo Lloris or Dutch national Maarten Stecklenberg, who is valued at £11m. Keep your eyes on the North London side because there could be lots of deals to be done there.

Chelsea and Man City may lock horns once again on deadline day, this time over Uruguayan striker Edinson Cavani. The Robinho saga is still fresh in the minds of both clubs, at one point on deadline day ’08 Chelsea were so confident that they had landed the Brazillian they began to print replica shirts with his name on. Yet in a sensational twist the star ended up signing for Mark Hughes’ City, there wasn’t to be a happy ending though for either party. The Sun report that Chelsea will pay Napoli £35m for the 25 year old, whereas Goal.com states that Roberto Mancini may make Cavani his ‘marquee’ signing of a summer of fairly little activity for the defending Premier League Champions. However, Cavani is reported to have signed a new deal at Napoli, featuring a 55m Euro buyout clause, so Roman Abramovich and Sheikh Mansour may have to fork out if they want to see the player turn out for their club.

It would be fair to say that Andy Carroll has endured a rather torrid time at Liverpool, he seemed destined for glory; a great season in The Championship with Newcastle was swiftly followed by a neat start to his premier league career, by November of his maiden Premier League season England were knocking on his door.

We dont need cabaye or jesus navas.my option of players will be-clint demsey,capoue/mvilla/bilige,remy.d main problem is d formation.in d epl lookin at all d teams,i can say arsenal has d fastest wingers in stock dat can support attackers.why is wenger wastin dis players on d bench, when he can play a 4-4-2 formation.d 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation wenger plays is nt workin 4 d new players.Wenger keeps on sayin d new players needs to blend while arsenal keep droppin points.wenger should try 4-4-2 and see whether d goal drought would nt stop.i noticed wenger only sticks to 1 formation, when he can play 4-4-2 formation.if a opponent plays 4-5-1 formation, wenger should use 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 to counter d opponent.
