Cabaye to Arsenal? Remy to Tottenham? Which Last Minute Deals Can We Prepare Ourselves For?

|

On Deadline Day of the January ’11 transfer window he broke club and national records by signing with the reds for £35m and from then on he gradually began to lose his spark, of course he still showed glimpses of what he could and still can do but ended up the butt of most football jokes. Now Goal.com claims that the 23 year old will move back to The Sport’s Direct Arena in a £17m switch, less than half the sum Kenny Dalglish payed for him.

If Carroll does leave Anfield then The Daily Mail reports that Brendan Rodgers will target Chelsea bench-warmer Daniel Sturridge. Sturridge has been out of favour for a long time at the West London club and was never really given a fair chance to prove himself.

Reports last year suggested that the Great British Olympian was unhappy with the way he was being treated, mainly being forced to play out of position or continually used as a substitute. The article suggests that Liverpool will have to pay £20m for Sturridge, the same sum as asked for Andy Carroll. This is proof that one move can string a chain of others.

There are several players who may be looking for transfers to bigger and better teams. Take Scott Sinclair for example, BBC Sport is reporting that the Swansea winger is set to join Manchester City. The Beeb claims that Swansea have accepted an offer for the 23 year old, with various media outlets suggesting that the fee is somewhere in the region of £6m, some would say a brave move for Sinclair.

Also on the verge of a move to a bigger club is Clint Dempsey, The People report that Fulham have set an asking price of £10m for the American and that Liverpool will put in one final offer in the hope of signing the midfielder thought to be in the region of the asking price. Yet this morning news broke that Sunderland have opened talks with the player, The Daily Mail suggest that Martin O’Neill is offering Dempsey a contract at the Stadium of Light after submitting an offer that meets Fulham’s criteria. Whether this is the bigger move that Dempsey desires remains to be seen.

These are two interesting deals that could be completed at any minute.

The former England, Liverpool, Real Madrid, Newcastle United and Manchester United striker Michael Owen believes that he will sign for a new club by deadline day, speaking to BBC Sport he said that he has been in contact with quite a few teams and expects to be donning a new shirt soon.

With this statement he pushed the rumour mill into overdrive, speculation suggests that Stoke City and Everton, the team he supported as a boy, will be among the teams trying to land the 32 year old. Stoke have been trying to sign the player for most of the summer, however they have struggled to find funds for Owen’s wages. Michael Owen has been without a club since being released by Manchester United in May.

So there you have it ,more than a dozen possible moves to grace the transfer window this time around. With the existence of the ‘Big Four’ no longer, it has opened up the transfer window fully; now we have more high profile moves and bigger and better scraps for players. All quality entertainment to enjoy and embrace of course!

Is your team there? Do any of those moves excite you? Or are these disasters waiting to happen?

We dont need cabaye or jesus navas.my option of players will be-clint demsey,capoue/mvilla/bilige,remy.d main problem is d formation.in d epl lookin at all d teams,i can say arsenal has d fastest wingers in stock dat can support attackers.why is wenger wastin dis players on d bench, when he can play a 4-4-2 formation.d 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 formation wenger plays is nt workin 4 d new players.Wenger keeps on sayin d new players needs to blend while arsenal keep droppin points.wenger should try 4-4-2 and see whether d goal drought would nt stop.i noticed wenger only sticks to 1 formation, when he can play 4-4-2 formation.if a opponent plays 4-5-1 formation, wenger should use 4-4-2 or 4-5-1 to counter d opponent.
