Is hatred of Rangers too deeply ingrained in the Scottish game?

If anyone wants to find the bigotry that Charles Green of Rangers was talking about, then they only need to look to the support known as the Tartan Army, in the Scotland friendly against Australia at Easter Road, the home of Hibernian Football Club.

A support that now boos players that represent a certain club. That club of course is Rangers. The Tartan Army decided that new Rangers signing Ian Black is fair game for the boo boys.

We can already hear the apologist for the corrupt and bigoted SFA say that Black was booed for being a former Hearts player, yet Andy Webster and Ryan McGowan, both Hearts players, were not booed. Let’s also not forget that Craig Levein, the Scotland coach, is a former Hearts manager.

Yet Ian Black, ex-Hearts and now of Rangers, is soundly booed on his Scotland debut by the bigoted Tartan Army.  What kind of fan base does Scotland now have, that they boo a player making his international debut?

Ian Black was not booed because he was an ex-Hearts player; it is because in Scottish football the shit has floated to the top and now controls the national game. This is now the sinister nature of the game of football in Scotland.

Rangers and their players are now fair game to the bigots and their hate-filled agenda that now runs the Scottish game.

In the case of Rangers, it seems there are no lines that cannot be crossed and no limits off bounds. The Alex Thomson insult of the Ibrox memorial was a new low in hatred in Scotland and it seems it is to be carried on to Rangers players who are chosen to represent their country.

The Tartan Army are the bigots who cannot distinguish between club and country, proving that the hatred directed towards Rangers is now so deeply ingrained in the fans of other clubs that they have lost all sense of perspective, and have given into bigotry and hatred. What type of supporter do we now have in Scotland that they cannot leave these feelings behind and go out and enjoy watching their national side play a game of football?

I’m a Celtic fan and agree with many of these comments about the so called ‘Tartan Army’. I’m in London a lot and have witnessed many teams visit The Emirates, including Arsenal’s local domestic rivals. Never has it been as unpleasant and tense for all concerned as when Scotland played a friendly there last year.
Racist, sexist, anti-English, anti social chants, people lying drunk in the street, people urinating wherever they liked, an unusually large Police presence and ‘foot-soldiers’ being generally unpleasant to the local community. They are an embarrassment. The problem is that they actually believe that people like it when they descend on communities and behave in this way. Deluded moronic arrogant idiots!
