Why Wolves have to demand more than £4m:

|

Rumours are flying around today about certain players expecting to leave Molineux over the summer.

Top of the list is the Wolves’ wide man Matt Jarvis, reportedly being closely watched by newly promoted Southampton who are rumoured to be making an offer for £4 million pounds.

Since signing for Wolves in 2007, Jarvis has gone on to make 161 league appearances for the club and earned a call up to the England side which faced Ghana in 2011. He was the first Wolves player to play for England since Steve Bull back in 1990.

Jarvis has been a regular first team player for Wolves for many seasons with his pace and ability to cross with either foot causing real problems for defenders across the country.

Every season he has been at the club he has played over 25 times in the league and has chipped in with assists and the odd goal. He was pivotal in Wolves’ survival last season playing 37 league games where he picked up the player of the season award. This season has been his most prolific scoring an impressive 7 goals from the wing and setting up a large amount of Steven Fletcher’s goals this season also.

Obviously when a team gets relegated they can’t demand the fee for players but if Southampton or any other club signed Jarvis for under £7 million they would have an absolute bargain. He’s proven in the Premier league and can terrorise most defences, against the likes of Man United, Chelsea and Man City he often is Wolves’ only threat which proves he could play for a stronger side than relegation strugglers.

If Wigan managed to squeeze almost £10 million for Charles N’Zogbia I’m confident that Wolves would be able to get at least £7 million for the ex-Gills lad.

I completely agree, wolves don’t need the money but can’t demand fees when you get relegated. My opinion worth £7-£10 million, downing is worth about £10 paid double the odds liverpool.
