What does the future hold for the Liverpool player that nobody seems to want?

Back when Dani Pacheco joined the Liverpool academy from Barcelona in 2007 he was viewed as a real talent. He was the kind of player that fans could flock around and pin their hopes for the future on. He had the potential to really kick on and make a good career for himself at Anfield. Unfortunately, for one reason or another he hasn’t really been offered opportunities and hasn’t managed to live up to expectations.

Indeed, he has made only seven first team appearances for Liverpool either side of a loan spell with Norwich City. The 21-year-old forward then went on a loan move to Atletico Madrid last summer but was almost immediately shifted on to Rayo Vallecano (as is the leniency with loan rules in Spain). Regrettably he struggled to find his feet.

He made only 11 appearances for Rayo during the course of the last season and was an unused substitute on 24 further occasions for the La Liga side.

According to talkSPORT Liverpool are keen to offload the youngster and are believed to have offered him to both Atletico and Rayo for just £2m. Both clubs have decided not to sign him on a permanent basis.

This means that Pacheco will return to Anfield to fight it out amongst the likes of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll (and whoever else the Red’s sign over the summer). The truth is he hasn’t shown enough signs that he’s ready to really kick on and make his make in the Premier League. If a player of his physique and technique level has struggled in La Liga he’s unlikely to find the going any easier in England.

With players like Raheem Sterling struggling to break into the first team it just doesn’t seem to make sense to bring back another player who is likely to just sit on the sidelines. It’s time for the Reds to buckle down, sort the wheat from the chaff and move forward. Unfortunately Pacheco seems to be surplus to requirements at Anfield.

The problem lies in finding a club for Pacheco to move on to. Would he be content to bide his time at a Championship side and prove himself worthy of a move to the Premier League? I’m not so sure. Yet this may be the only way for his career to progress.

What’s your take? How can Liverpool get rid of Pacheco? Or should they keep him?

Pacheco is a class player. Too bad Liverpool never gave him the time to play first team football.

Pacheo 14 games in 2 years
Lucas 72 games in 2 years
Ngog 56 games in 2 years
Pacheo like a few other youth players like Ince,Amoo,Bruna and Ka?anikli? have never had the run of games needed to prove themselves a start here and 10 minutes there is never going to be long enough.
Ngog recieved to much playing time while it should have been shared with Pacheo and others.
Pacheo should wait and see who the new manager is he could become our David Silva if he receives the correct training.
