Is the Daily Star right to claim that Manchester City players are in open mutiny against Mancini?

The knives are out already for Manchester City and for Roberto Mancini after the recent defeats in Lisbon and Swansea.

We should not be surprised – news is new: City winning every match in style is not news any more. But do we believe the Star’s assertion that Mancini’s men are in open “mutiny”?

It was not good to see the expression on Gareth Barry’s face as he was substituted on Sunday. Grim would describe it. It has been claimed that he swore at coaching staff. Only Pizzaro and Balotelli support Mancini and his coaching team, according to the Star. The players are exhausted.

It is not surprising that City’s players are exhausted: how could they maintain the brilliance they achieved earlier in the season? Mancini also relies heavily on Silva and Yaya Toure in key matches. It would not surprise me if both are worn out: Silva is slight, and has looked tired recently. I think he needs a rest. Toure has been all the way to the Africa Cup of Nations, and suffered the emotions of last minute defeat. He must be worn out too.

Now there are fights in the tunnel, allegedly between Yaya Toure and Balotelli: but this is not new, and in the recent past arguments have been the springboard for even more success and team spirit.

One worrying aspect is the way that in the past few days Micah Richards has been used as the club’s spokesperson. Richards is City through and through and can be relied upon to support the club when others are less keen. He has been prominent before when times were difficult.

Some parts of the Star report are obviously rubbish. They claim it was so hot in Portugal that the players resented training. I looked it up – Lisbon was 69º on Friday – this is a perfectly good temperature for training. Clubs choose warm weather resorts for winter breaks.

The players say they will never win the league with Mancini as manager, according to the Star. But he won in Italy: the Premier League may be different, and require more stamina. If City do lose to United this year, that may be the lesson Mancini will have learned.

The daily star have an anti-City agenda this week for some reason, probably because it makes for a bit of sensation and sells papers, but next week it could be Liverpool or Arsenal, or Chelsea, whoever.

The moral of this tale is, don’t believe a lying, stinking word printed by that rag, they’re full of shit.

The Daily Star is no different from the Daily Mail and the Guardian, all run by United fans.

Says it all, the answer is NO because they do not have any inside knowledge, or do they have a spy at City?

fecking think they’re in the know but have not got a fecking clue.

Hope it’s true .mancini fond of distabilizing arsenal coz of owners money.he thinks by acquiring anything arsenal that can get him success. I want man u to win the epl coz ferguson is a fantastic mgr & respects other clubs .he hasn’t bought 4 established players from one club, this is tentamount to raping arsenal. So the bigger the fights at man shitty the sweeter the news at emirates/ gunners .
