Mauricio Pochettino is prepared to wait until the summer to get Wilfried Zaha from Crystal Palace.

According to a report in The Sun the Spurs boss is keen on the Crystal Palace winger who fancies a crack at the top end of the table, preferably in the Champions League.

Spurs put in a £15m bid for Zaha in the summer but that was rejected by Palace with the player disappointed that a deal couldn’t be agreed.

Palace failed to follow up that decision by giving Zaha an improved contract with the 24-year-old believed to be on around £35,000 per week with Christian Benteke being paid three times that amount.

Zaha perfectly fits the identikit player that Pochettino wants to bring to Spurs with the emphasis firmly on pacey attackers.

The 24-year-old has settled easily back at Palace after a frustrating time at Manchester United but has never given up on his ambition to play on a bigger stage.
