According to reports from The Evening Standard this afternoon, a recent poll has revealed nearly 60% of Arsenal fans want Arsene Wenger to sign Manchester City midfielder James Milner this summer.
The England international looks set to leave the Etihad on a free transfer at the end of the season upon the expiration of his contract, having recently rejected a three-year extension worth £80k per-week.
As reported by This Is Futbol earlier this month, Arsenal and Liverpool are believed to be amongst the 29 year-old’s likeliest suitors – but a variety of clubs from across Europe, including AC Milan and Roma, have also been linked.
But signing the former Leeds, Newcastle and Aston Villa man, who boasts 415 appearances in the English top flight and two Premier League titles, could require a four-year contract offer – as This Is Futbol revealed earlier this week.
In desperate need of home-grown talent, however, Manchester City are almost certain make Milner an improved offer before the summer window.
