Scottish Premiership

For the Rangers faithful it’s just a sad case of history repeating itself:

|

Not being able to play any of his summer recruits is frankly no excuse for this latest woeful showing and yet another dire performance has resulted in an early cup loss which can be added to defeats to Malmo, Maribor, Falkirk, Dundee United, Queen Of The South, Inverness Caledonian Thistle and Dundee United.

Yes of course questions must also be asked of the players. How Ian Black continues to get a game is beyond me, yet it is worth pointing out that it is Ally McCoist who signs the players,it is Ally McCoist who picks the team and the tactics and when the chips are down, it is the responsibility of Ally McCoist in devising a plan to turn things around.

Just two words sum up this latest debacle, Marvin Andrews.

Big Marv is a legend, mainly thanks to his never give up attitude which epitomised ‘Helicopter Sunday’, but that was eight years ago for goodness sake.

Last year he was plying his trade in the junior set-up, but on Saturday afternoon the 37 year old was still able to stop his old side from progressing to the Second Round of the League Cup.

And then there is the ongoing farce surrounding the club off field with our old friend Charles Green resurfacing and as we have come to expect from him, not mincing his words, especially when it comes to questioning the merits of having McCoist as Gers gaffer.

Now I can’t deny that I do, unfortunately, share his lack of faith in Ally but for Green to come out on the day of a match and be so forceful in his opinions shows a real lack of class and respect.

As does the response from current CEO Craig Mather, as this public back-biting is making Rangers FC a laughing stock in the eyes of the football world.

Whilst feverish speculation over the real truth of the club’s finances continues to spread like wildfire, with talk of a the real possibilities of the club re-entering the horrors of administration failing to go away, public posturing by the likes of Jim McColl and Paul Murray does no-one who has the interests of this famous old club any good.

Stability off the park will in all liklehood lead to stability on it but as long as the reigns of power remain in the hands of messrs Green, Mather and McCoist I fear Rangers FC will just keep on making the same old mistakes and the club which was once bore the hallmarks of the standards set by the greats such as Bill Struth and Willie Waddell will continue to stumble from one disaster to another.

You seem to be well informed, i assume you have all the coaching qualifications to be able to judge ally, i think with everything he has had to put up with since he became boss he should be applauded for copeing with ill informed so called fans and the pressure coming from the top of rangers board.
