Leeds United saw a raft of new players make their way to Elland Road since the end of their previous Premier League campaign.

Names such as Tyler Adams, Marc Roca, Luis Sinisterra, Rasmus Kristensen and Wilfried Gnonto all made moves to the Yorkshire club in the summer as they managed to avoid relegation at the end of the previous season.

Another player the Whites brought in that has gone on to become an important figure for Jesse Marsch is Brenden Aaronson.

Signed from RB Salzburg back in May for a reported fee of £24.7m, the 22-year-old has gone on to start all 16 of Leeds’ league games.

In addition to scoring one goal and providing two assists, the American has also made more key passes (29) than any other player at the club as well as having more shot-creating actions (58) and goal-creating actions (5) than any of his teammates.

Now that the January transfer window has officially opened, this gives Marsch the chance to add some strength to his squad, as he already has done with the recent arrival of defender Max Wober.

Leeds United fans, who were these players sold to? Starting with an easy one: Alan Smith

In terms of some extra attacking reinforcements, one player that has been mentioned with a move to Leeds that we feel would benefit from playing alongside someone like Aaronson is Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres.

This season has seen the 24-year-old, who has been praised for his “outstanding” performances in the past by journalist Richard Sutcliffe on Twitter, score 12 goals in 25 Championship appearances, which showcases how much of a dangerous attacking figure he is.

Have you been impressed with Brenden Aaronson so far this season?

With the joint-highest number of shots on target (31) in the second division, having a player like Aaronson behind him pulling the strings and setting up goalscoring opportunities would make Gyokeres a dream signing for Marsch and potentially help fire the team away from the relegation zone.

Moving forward, if the Leeds boss feels the need to add another attacker to his squad this month, exploring the possibility of signing the Coventry star would definitely worth doing in our view.
