Everton: Danny Ings not keen on a move

Everton target Danny Ings is not keen on a January move to Frank Lampard’s side, claims Alex Crook.

The Toffees have been dealt a huge blow in their attempts to bring Ings to Goodison Park until the end of the season with their offer rebuffed.

The Daily Mail’s Dominic King previously reported that a loan bid to bring the Englishman to Merseyside for the remainder of the season was rejected with Unai Emery’s side only willing to let Ings leave on a permanent deal.

Following just eight league starts this season, Villa want to cut their losses on the star who cost them £25m just 18 months ago, with the striker now at 30 and playing only a bit part role it’s fair to say it hasn’t quite worked out for him at Villa Park.

Nonetheless, there is strong interest in his services from Everton but talkSPORT’s Crook told GiveMeSport that the striker isn’t interested in relocating, saying:

“He’s just built a new house in the local area, so that comes into play, you know, whether Mrs Ings will be in favour of rerouting. I was told he wasn’t particularly keen on joining an Everton or a Wolves.”

TIF Thoughts on Crooks’ comments…

Everton are in serious need of fresh firepower with them currently the joint second-lowest scorers in the division with only 15 goals in 19 games.

This is partly down to Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s injury problems this season that’s limited him to just nine league appearances, meriting just one goal that came in their last victory against Crystal Palace back in October.

With £15m summer arrival Neal Maupay also bang out of luck in front of goal, also netting just once in the top-flight, a new forward is desperately needed and Ings would be a fantastic incoming if they can convince him.

He’s previously netted 68 Premier League goals in his career and is a reliable goal scoring presence that Lampard is desperate for right now amid Everton now falling into the drop zone after the 2-1 defeat against Southampton.
