Chelsea transfer target Marcus Thuram will be ‘available’ to sign in the summer, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.

The Blues have already received news from Romano regarding Thuram’s future, with the Italian stating that moving to the Premier League is his ‘priority’ in June, amid interest from both Graham Potter’s side and Manchester United.

The forward’s contract with Borussia Monchengladbach is currently set to expire at the end of the season, and while his manager Daniel Farke has claimed the player ‘feels right at home’ in Germany, he is yet to extend his deal, and a move abroad is still very much on the cards.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT about the potential transfer, Romano said:

“Also in this case it depends on the conditions of the deal.

“Thuram is available as a free agent in the summer because he’s 100% not going to extend the contract with Gladbach.

“So, many clubs are approaching him from Italy, like Inter to sign him as a free agent in the summer.”

TIF thoughts on Thuram to Chelsea…

Hailed as ‘world class’ by Wolfsburg sporting director Marcel Schafer, the Parma-born attacker has the versatility to play across the front three, making him a fantastic option for Potter, as he is able to utilised in a number of different systems.

It is no wonder interest is so high in the Frenchman, given his record in front of goal this season, scoring 13 in 17 games, also weighing in with four assists, meaning that he is averaging a goal contribution in every match.

Thuram has featured as a centre-forward in all 17 of his outings this season, so there is perhaps some evidence that he has found his best position, and given that he is still only 25, he would be a fantastic long-term replacement for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has just one Premier League goal to his name this season.
