Fabrizio Romano has shared some behind-the-scenes details regarding Arsenal’s pursuit of Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk.
The north London club have been heavily linked with a move for the attacker this month and have even had a bid rejected for him.
Now that some time has passed since this initial setback, some behind-the-scenes details have emerged regarding Arsenal’s latest attempts to secure a deal for the player.
After revealing that the Gunners have recently sent a fresh bid to Shakhtar to sign Mudryk, Romano had some details to share on the matter in a recent Twitter post,
He said: “EXCL: Arsenal new official proposal for Mykhaylo Mudryk is close to €70m fee plus add-ons, submitted tonight as revealed earlier. #AFC
“Negotiations ongoing with Shakhtar Donetsk to discuss on the add-ons package. No issues on personal terms, Mudryk wants the move.”
Having scored 10 goals and delivered eight assists in 18 appearances for the Ukraine club this season, it’s easy to see why Arsenal are so keen to add Mudryk to Mikel Arteta’s squad this month.
With Romano highlighting that the player is keen on joining the north London club, this should fill a lot of Arsenal supporters with excitement given how impressive he has been on the pitch this season and how he’s now looking to do it for the Gunners.
Are you pleased Arsenal have not given up on signing Mudryk?
Yes
No
Described as being a potentially “devastating” addition to Arteta’s team by Kevin Campbell, Mudryk would certainly offer Arsenal an extra attacking figure that knows how to find the back of the net and set up goalscoring opportunities for his teammates.
Moving forward, if the Emirates outfit are able to seal a deal for the winger that Shakhtar are happy with, this would surely be a big statement of intent from Arsenal as they look to carry on their impressive Premier League campaign and stay at the top of the table.
