Everton are now expected to have a busy January transfer window with the Toffees needing to be very active in the coming month.
This has been suggested by the transfer guru Ryan Taylor who has been speaking to GiveMeSport about the Merseyside club’s plans for the winter market.
Going into this winter’s World Cup break, Frank Lampard’s side once again found themselves slumped at the foot end of the Premier League table with just one point keeping them above the drop zone.
After a summer window which saw Everton make just one transfer worth over the £25m mark, Taylor believes the Toffees need to spend in January to boost their chances of survival.
And with the results not improving at Goodison Park, Taylor is expecting Lampard to see some arrivals come through the doors as they once again find themselves in the middle of a relegation scrap:
“Everton need players again because once again, their season’s dwindling.
“So, I definitely expect Everton to be very active in the January window. But I can’t say right now which players they are going to go after.”
TIF Thoughts on Taylor’s comments…
One of the biggest issues for Lampard so far this season has been in front of goal with the second-lowest number of goals scored in the Premier League.
Do you have any faith in DCL?
Yes
No
And this has come as a result of their issues at striker with Dominic Calvert-Lewin who has just one goal to his name this season amid his injury issues (via Transfermarkt).
There have been some links to the likes of Viktor Gyokeres ahead of the January window and we do believe they need to improve that front line if they are hoping for an improved second half of the campaign.
