Journalist Dean Jones believes that Alexis Vega is what Wolves are ‘crying out for’ amid links to the club.
Previously speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones said that the Mexico attacker is very much on the Old Gold’s radar as they look to amend their poor start to the season.
The Molineux club are the lowest-scoring team in the division having scored just eight times in 15 games, but signing Vega won’t be easy.
That is because the £8m star is also attracting interest from some of Europe’s heaviest hitters in the form of Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid.
The Chivas forward started all three of his country’s group-stage matches at the World Cup, and despite not getting on the scoresheet, Jones feels he would offer something different to Julen Lopetegui.
He told GMS: “I do think he would bring a spark.
“I think that is something they’re crying out for once the second half of the season gets underway.”

The versatile frontman has directly contributed to seven goals in 17 appearances in Mexico’s top flight this season and was described as a player of ‘great quality’ by former manager Tomas Boy.
While not the most prolific with just 24 goals in 121 appearances for his current employers, the 26-cap gem clearly has something about him given the level of the clubs holding an interest in his services.
He could turn out to be a very shrewd addition for Lopetegui as he looks to steer his recently inherited side clear of relegation trouble, but whether Vega has a role to play remains to be seen.
