Former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has admitted he misses the Premier League and would be open to a return.

Pochettino is currently out of work after leaving Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and is yet to kickstart his managerial career since.

The Argentinian spent over five years at Spurs, taking charge of 293 games, including a League Cup final in 2014/15, back-to-back FA Cup semi-finals and a Champions League final.

He recently admitted his love for being in England when talking to TalkSport.

He said: “I miss the Premier League.

“I am really open [to returning]. I love England, I’m living between London and Barcelona, but it’s like my home, I love to be in England.

“I think the Premier League is one of the best, if not the best league in the world.”

TIF Thoughts on Pochettino’s comments…

The 50-year-old was one of the brightest managers in the league whilst in north London after impressing in only 60 games at Southampton to earn him the job.

But it remains to be seen whether Pochettino would walk back into a role at a ‘big six’ club after an underwhelming spell at PSG saw him fail to win the league in his first season.

We are not sure there are any jobs available that would look appealing to both the club and the Argentinian, but he has already been linked with a potential return to N17 amid Antonio Conte’s ongoing contract debacle, so perhaps he will be happy to play the waiting game.
