Dejan Kulusevski and his Tottenham Hotspur teammates were in awe on social media of Ivan Perisic’s goal for Croatia at the World Cup.

The Sweden international posted a video on his Instagram account of them reacting ecstatically as Perisic scored against Japan to equalise for his country in the last-16 tie.

Perisic joined the club on a two-year deal in the summer after his contract with Inter expired, having won a league title and an Italian Super Cup while in Italy.

The goal from the Croatian was his first of the tournament, and judging by the scenes, those watching were absolutely delighted for him:

TIF Thoughts on Kulusevski’s post…

We believe the post from Kulusevski shows great team spirit in the Spurs dressing room – something all Tottenham fans will surely love to see.

Perisic is a proven threat when compared to other full-backs. The 33-year-old is in the top 2% for assists and the top 5% for shot-creating actions (FBref).

The Croatian already has four assists league for Spurs so far this season and he’ll be looking to add more.

Kulusevski’s return to the squad is an added bonus. The Swede – who could be set to join permanently for €35m (£30m) – sustained a thigh-related injury in September and made his return in early November against Liverpool. In the league, the 22-year-old has six goal contributions in nine games.

When the Premier League returns, both Perisic and Kulusevski could be big players in the second half of the season. A gap of eight points is far from impossible to make up for Spurs – all they need is to hit the ground running when they play Brentford on Boxing Day and carry on from there.
