Kevin Campbell, who features on Sky Sports, has questioned the future of Tottenham Hotspur star Yves Bissouma, should they sign Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Speaking with Football Insider, Campbell claims that the arrival of the Argentine would ‘make like very difficult’ for Spurs midfielder.

According to a report from L’Interista, Tottenham and a number of European sides are keen on the Seagulls man.

Mac Allister caught the eye at the World Cup with Argentina, finding the back of the net in a 2-0 win against Poland in the group stage.

Bissouma joined Spurs last summer, from Mac Allister’s current club, Brighton. Antonio Conte’s side spent around £35 million on the midfielder.

Campbell stated:

“He’s a really good player.

“There was a lot of talk about him before the World Cup anyway, but you can see what an impact he’s had on this Argentina midfield.

“He’s good on the ball, he’s smart, he’s a worker.

“But them signing another midfielder will make life very difficult for Yves Bissouma.

“He’s not getting into this side, and they’ve spent £25million on him. If Mac Allister comes in, then it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Bissouma.”

TIF’s view Campbell’s comments…

We believe that it comes as no surprise that a number of clubs are sniffing around Mac Allister, he’s been one of Brighton’s top performers.

The Argentine has an average Premier League Sofascore rating of 7.31, which is the highest score of any Brighton player this season.

Mac Allister joined the club back in 2019, Brighton paid Argentinos Juniors £7 million for his services. When you take that all into consideration, it’s an absolute bargain.

As for Bissouma, he’s made 14 Premier League appearances for Tottenham. However, that doesn’t tell the full story, the Malian has only started six times.

If Mac Allister was to make the move to North London, it could well prove to be tough for Bissouma. If he’s already struggling to get consistent Premier League game time at the moment, a new addition to the midfield would only make it more challenging.
